Yeah, I can't believe I did that. I am saddened because I was so excited about my day at the university that my thank-you note was addressed to my interviewer from the other school I interviewed at. What are you opinions? I am so stressed out about it right now 🙁 The funny part is I didn't even use a template email where I could see that as easily happening.

I wouldn't worry about it. I hope they have similar names...

Just forget about the accident and focus on the rest of your application cycle. What is done is done and you can't change anything now (except not make that mistake again). The worst thing you can do is dwell on that mistake and let it eat at you because then you won't be at your 100% for future interviews.

If you don't get into the school where you send the wrong thank you note, then that may have been the reason you weren't accepted. If you do get in, then it wasn't a big deal. (Either way, you ought to update this thread to provide information for future generations of predents 😀 ).

Of course, because I definitely am not the first nor the last to do something this silly. lol

Eh, horrible mistake...I had similar experience when I was applying for a research position at my school...Not to mention it didn't turn out nice.

The best case scenario is you don't get a response.... care to share what happened? :scared:

BTW how is the application going for you. I believe I proofread your statement lol.

Lol, no big deal...I accidentally put "emeritus" as the professor's name (at the time I didn't know what that means and thought it was the Prof's name). Not to mention I got an email questioning who was I talking to. I bet he also thought I was a careless person and horrible for research.

Thanks for your help for proofreading, I really appreciated! So far I landed 3 pre-dec interviews, 1 post dec.

I understand where you are coming from and thanks for letting me know that you did something similar to my error and how it turned out. The thing is, for research that email is how your prof got to know you (it was the cake in a cupcake). With the interview, the thank-you letter was superfluous (like the sprinkles on a cupcake). The sprinkles aren't needed, but nonetheless they make the desert more appealing, Yes, I went all out with the analogies.

Ah, woe of the FOB. It's okay. My mom still can't say "important" without making it sound like "impotent." Life goes on lol

Not that bad! I got a pleasant letter back from him. He was actually the only one of my interviewers to reply to my thank-you email. My nerves have been calmed. So, for any future predents, your errors in the thank-you letter can be overlooked. 🙂

I am really glad it worked out for you 🙂

Where did you interview at?
