Drop the class and learn from the experience. You're lucky to have had this recognition of your limitations in a way that will not affect your application cycle at all. This explanation for the W is acceptable, if asked.I bit off more than I could chew, took the harder math class even though I should have remediated at a lower level. I'm struggling in the class, the professor is not very helpful, and I'm just not grasping the concepts fast enough even though I'm getting outside help. Just thinking about the class makes me miserable and fills me with dread every morning.
I have until 11/29 to withdraw and I'm seriously thinking about it. How bad does this look to adcoms? Especially if I don't have any more Ws other than this one 1st semester freshman year? I'm going to try really really hard to raise my grade and then re-evaluate at the end of the month but I'd be lucky if I could pull a B at this rate.
