This was the weakest part of my DAT score...are there any good study materials out there that may help me improve this score?

Thanks!

From what i understand...although i haven't had too much PAT practice as of yet - the Barron's book and Achiever are pretty good. But generally, regardless of what you use, the more practice you get the better. Good luck!

I tried the barrons book my first time through, but that didnt help much. I'll look into the archiver. Thanks!

Any other suggestions?

I dont think there is many stuff out there for that section besides achiever, just try to find ur niche for that section! I know its easier said than done but thats all you can do because u cant really study for it but practice problems!

lonely is right. the pat is more or less an innate ability. you either have it or you dont. You could try and enhance your pat skills with practice but for the most part it comes naturally to some people over others as there is no real way to study for it.

the advantage of PAT is... you don't need the godliest and highest score to get in.... Just try to get a 17 or 18 and you'll be fine... shooting for a 25 in this section is a waist of time.... Focus your energies into the sciences, thats where the hammer hits hard.

That cannot be said any better. If you want to change your innate ability, change your way of life by studying objects you see in your brain and manipulate the orientation in every chance you get.

I am a semi pro mechanic and I do a lot of work on cars that requires me to draw mental images and manipulate them. This helped me greatly doing the PAT section.

while I agree with Nasem somewhat in that not all schools highly value the pat section. Having said that shooting for a high pat is not a waste of time. a higher pat can only enhance your dat score further in the eyes of the admissions committee and thereby improve your chances dramatically on being accepted over someone who does not have a pat score as high as yours. Just something to think about.
Furthermore it is not that hard to prepare for it if you set aside an hour everyday practicing pat problems. I barely studied for the pat at all and still managed to grab a 19 on it. So as long as you put in the time, you will definetly do well. good luck

Thanks for the advice! I'm not really worried about the science section (except ochem) b/c I did well on those sections on my first attempt. PAT was my lowest score and I really need to work hard on it.

My next question, what can I use that has a lot of practice problems? Someone mentioned "the archiver", but i did a google search and nothing useful came up. I bought the DAT destroyer but that does not focus on the PAT. I also have the Barron's book and the Kaplan book.

Thanks again!
