I just finished my M1 year. I had to redo my first year due to failures the first time. This year, I passed all my courses and averaged an 85+ across all classes in my second semester (grades still pending from my last block which I completed today)

I'd prefer to transfer to a different school. Is remediating my M1 year going to be a barrier to transferring? I've heard that transferring is hard but not impossible

Is there anything I can do to increase my chances of transferring?

You're better off waiting until you're finished with second year.
Yeah, I know I'd have to wait until I finish second year and until I take Step 1. I was wondering if there is anything I can do in the meantime to make myself a better applicant?

Also, would it help if I took step 2 prior to applying for a transfer and what is the best way to study for both Step 1 and Step 2 at the same time? Planning on using my summer to focus on Step Studying
