How can this be a square?

This means the other two end points of square would be (2,2) and (6,4).

Distance between X to X is 4 because (2,2) --> (6,2)
Distance between Y to Y is 2 because (2,2) --> (2,4)

shouldn't this be a rectangle?
 
i actually saw this question too. i did the calculations and got it right but when i tried to draw it out i couldnt understand why it was a square. seems like it was a rectangle to me.
 
It's like saying hey~ there is a circle, assume that it's a triangle and find its area, and then should we use area to find circle or triangle, lol.

You're all assuming that the "square is sitting straight up and down. A "tilted" square can have those coordinates.

The midpoint of (2,4) and (6,2) is (4, 3). The slope is -1/2. So the slope of the other diagonal is 2 (WHY?). To get to the midpoint from (2,4) we went right 2 and down 1. So to get to the other 2 points we will go right 1 and up 2 and we will go left 1 and down 2. From this we get (5,5) and (3,1).

Those are your missing points.
