Hi all,

I'm not sure if it's me or something else but it seems that many many people here are getting interviews already! Did you guys that get interviews finish all your secondaries way in advance?

I'm still working on my secondaries but submitted a handful of them (around 13). But I have no interviews requests from GW, pitt, or any other school that other ppl have received interview requests from.

Anyone else in the same position that I am in?

My stats are decent but not great, 3.67, ivy, 32 mcats

are the early interviewers all exceptional applicants? like >36, >3.8, etc?

It is REALLY early in the season. SUPER early. From what I understand, the real interview season is October - March. So don't worry. You have plenty o'time. 🙂

Trust me, most of us are in your situation. Don't worry, pre-secondary interviews seem to be reserved for people with crazy stats and EC's, but that doesn't mean we won't get into the schools during the regular process.

Realize that, this thread aside, most people post about stuff that has happened to them rather than stuff that has not happened. Thus, the threads about people getting interviews are much more common than threads about people not getting interviews. Realize that some schools, like Harvard, haven't even put up their secondary yet, and Stanford's was just sent out today. It's still very early to be receiving interview invites. Starting at the end of this month and into September, the number of invites will become more torrential.

Exactly. Also, keep in mind that some of those who posted are EDP people as well.

torrential.

I like that word when it's not used in a weather setting.

I also like the word simmer, when it's not used in a cooking sense.

But my favorite words are defenestrate and flibbertigibbet.

a lot of people interview thru the month of feb. the interview season has barely started. just calm yourself. you have good numbers. you sound like one of those paranoid premeds so some advice...dont worry so much, about other people getting stuff and not you this early on. if you keep this up, your head of hair will turn grey by the time april rolls around.

runmimi, what are you talking about, your stats are awesome!

OP - I wouldnt worry about it, the only interview I have so far is for my state school, and its a guaranteed interview. I've also applied to a lot of the other schools people are already getting interviews for and not heard anything, but I'm still hoping I'll hear later in the application process. Don't worry about it, your stats are great and I'm sure you'll be fine 🙂

Don't worry! I have one, but it was a guaranteed interview from my state school. I have absolutely nothing else. It's okay!

for example, the AZ med schools guarantee interviews to all instate applicants.

She'd like more numbers starting with 4.

Well, I have 4 interviews and I don't think I have crazy stats but you can look at my link below if you are curious. I'm just as surprised as you that I have this many to be honest! Part of it has to be early submission--maybe my LORs were better than I counted on! Anyways, be glad. I'm so stressed out because in one 7 day period I have 3 out of town interviews. I'm going to really struggle to keep afloat in September... I'd rather they be spread out.

Your posting privleges have been revoked. Thank you and have a nice day.

yeah. in SDN (just like life in general), when people make up their minds that they want to be pissed at someone, its easy to find a reason! 😉

So from reading the interview feedback, it seems that nearly all interviews are conducted in october, is this right? I don't see many in Sept at all.

I think that early pre-secondary interviews are in september. They seem to start October and continue on from there.

The reason I don't have interviews yet is because my pre-med committee is sitting on their lazy ass and not sending out the letters of rec. until "late Aug." Sorry, I needed to vent.

Jason

Sons of bitches! (I am going through a similar situation )

Me too. I am seriously starting to think it might have been easier to do separate LORs. It's easy to harrass individuals, but not as easy to get all 4 pre-med committee members at the same place at the same time so they can "interview" you for a frickin' letter they'll BS their way through anyway.
