DO schools will be more forgiving.@gonnif does that 40% include MD and DO schools?
How common is it for someone to finish and smp above a 3.7 and not get any acceptances?

I'm aware of that, and I even ended up being in the first round of waitlist acceptances for that school (they had a delayed cycle)! I mentioned my timeline to highlight how uncertain this entire process is, especially for reinventors, and how you've just gotta keep trucking along before things will happen for you!People get called off the waitlist literally days before or even days after orientation starts as medical schools will make sure that every seat is filled
With a 506, that's a weak MCAT for reinventors to be attractive to MD schools. I would only recommend your state school and the Drexel/Albany class schools. DO is much more the best bet in this case. If you're boning for an MD, -----> 513+So if a reinventor has a 506 Mcat and strong upward trend+ good ecs, should they plan on retaking the mcat? Or do they have a possiblity at schools that reward reinvention/mission schools?
I think that a 510 should be fine for most state schools, for in-staters.I think that is a little too absolute. A re-inventor with a solid current background (2-3 years of high level UG/PB/SMP) and a 505-510 MCAT is a reasonable candidate. I also feel re-inventors really need to have appropriately shaped and well-honed PS/2nd. Its not that simply your re-inventor story will sway the highly sympathetic and receptive types like Goro, they have to be polished much more better (yes said on purpose) than the typical less than concise, coherent, and compelling PS/2nd that many solid traditional candidates have. Its got to be good enough to push you thru to get the interview.
