I will be applying to PT schools this July and am wondering how competitive my application will be, here's a quick snapshot…..
-Student athlete majoring in Biology with Cum 3.68/4.0 gap, my prereq gap is above 3.5, deans list all semesters and part of the tri-beta national scientific honor society
-Have 175hours of observation experience (150 outpatient, 25 inpatient)
-Have 3 strong recommendation letters
-will be taking the GRE next month, took some practice tests and my projected score is between 292-302 (I know its low)
-I plan on applying to Stonybrook (where I really want to go), NYIT, Touro, and LIU Brooklyn

GPA and hours look good. Definitely try to get a 300 on the GRE, as many schools use that as a cutoff. Good luck!

Very competitive do good on the GRE and become a PT aide to get lots of hours and put the icing on the cake. NY has tons of schools apply to as many as you can.

As far as stats go...

I would say your cumulative GPA is right around the average for accepted students (slightly lower for some schools). Your pre req GPA is on the lower end i'd say but you're still sitting in a good spot.

I would say if you can score well on the GRE you'll be very competitive! Usually if one has a higher GPA than yours they won't need to do quite as good on the GRE, but since yours is around average a higher GRE will increase your odds. If you do end up getting around a 300 i'd say you'd still be a competitive applicant regardless. As some people say, some schools use the 300 as a cut off, while many others don't. I would look into the schools you are applying at and at least see what their minimum requirement is, and beat that minimum.

Best of luck!

Very competitive do good on the GRE
