Hi

I was wondering if anyone knew how competitive it is in getting accepted into the MMEP program. Can someone give me any tips on how to improve my application? How many program sites can you choose? Thanks.

I am not sure how competitive it is, but I managed to secure a spot. I think that you can apply to 3 schools. I think that the application is pretty standard. Applying early is probably the best thing that you can do. Good luck!

I think it's really easy. I applied to about 6 programs and was accepted into 2. I went to the Chicago MMEP and had a great time. Don't worry about it. As long as you apply you should get in.

You cannot apply to more than 3 sites. I was accepted to the programs in UVA, Fisk, and UAB. I attended UAB and it was a good program. If you have any questions, PM me.

It's not that hard although I heard that a thousand ppl applied to the Columbia site and there were a little over 100 of us in attendance. So who knows??

I applied to Baylor and Columbia and got accepted to both.

Only 3 sites? I don't remember that part. Maybe they changed the rules.

Hi

What about gpa or certain course subjects? Thanks.

i think the columbia program is hard to get into, being in NYC and all..

I'd recommend MMEP at columbia since i did it - a fun time and productive too if you can stay focused!

I would actually call or email the MMEP offices that you are interested in attending. They all have sort-of different focuses. Yale i think focuses more on MCAT Prep... Columbia had great shadowing ops and an awesome "prep for med school" line of coursework and mentoring, so you get the feeling of what it might be like.

So depending on what you would like to strengthen or are most concerned about in attending medical school, different sites have different flavors.

good luck!

Hi

What is the essay question for the application and can it be personal? Thanks.
