how current do courses need to be

I finished my undergrad in 2005 (took premed courses along with my major). The year is now 2011... are the courses current enough or should I retake all the premed stuff?

You should be fine, but it never hurts to check with the individual schools you are interested in applying to.

I took gen chem and physics back in undergrad last century 😉 and none of the schools I applied to had issues with that.
