ive been studying for some time now, a few months....and im scheduled to take the dat on july 18....
my question is for those who've been through it all....how did you know you were ready?
ive done almost every test, kaplan course, all their tests.....and dat achievers....i just cant tell if im ready or not! 🙁
any advice, any siggestions, or tips how to spend the next two weeks.
thank you.
messenger. 🙂

I have been wondering this myself too. What I have gathered is that you are ready when you feel over prepared and cannont wait to the stinkin' test in the rear and get it over with.

What were your scores on Kaplan tests? If they were 18+ then you are in a good shape to take the test. I used to get 18-19 on Kaplan and scored 21 on the real thing. Just take it easy and relax. Go over the things that trouble you the most and don't saturate yourself with information. Atleast, don't let yourself feel saturated with information. It's the feeling that counts here.
Goodluck.

Someone on these boards said you'll know you're ready when you feel like you've just had enough. You won't want to take another damn practice exam-you might even feel a little excited to take the DAT.
A week before my exam, I was scared and nervous, b/c of my low practice scores that I studied like CRAZY. Then, 2 days before my exam, I just felt like I knew everything and couldn't wait to take the exam!

for me I would be reading my review notes or the kaplan book and would just know what each paragraph was going to say and I knew what was coming up. my studying threshhold disappeared and I could only study for an hour or so before I wanted to put the book down and swear that I wouldnt ever touch it again. thats when I got online and scheduled my test for the following week

Same here. Plus, I had used up all of my practice exams and didn't want to buy any more material

When I was ready, I no longer felt very worried about the upcoming exam, just excited about getting it over with! Are you feeling confident about your ability in all of the sections, messenger? Since you have about two weeks until your scheduled date, now's a good time to go over any areas you might feel a little weak in. I took my final practice exam about three days before my test date, so I'd be ready to get into the test mindset on Test Day!

Best of luck to you 🙂

thanks for all of your support everyone, i am very anxious to get this test over with for sure!
but, i definitely feel a little underconfident in just some ochem and gchem.
pat, rc, bio, most qr, most gchem, most ochem, i feel good, pretty ready. but it seems like you can never really be overally ready?
i mean its getting to the point where i look at myself in the mirror and i say, "im taking the test in two weeks." now, when i say this..i smile. im glad i dont frown or start crying! so i guess thats a good sign. now trying to figure out a nice little plan, besides taking practice exams.

i guess i really wanna score like everyone on this site...most are annihilating this test! didnt think the averages were this high! kinda wish i hadnt seen this site! jk, i love the support and information everyone passes to one another. 🙂 good luck to me and all of you. :luck:

hey messenger I am taking the test tomorrow at 12 noon

I am really nervous right now and feel weird

I hope I get 20+ in all areas...

Wish me luck guyz...

See ya tomorrow :scared:

Myself, I knew I needed to study more when I could sit down at my desk and read and talk out and rewrite chapter after chapter from Campbell or Kaplan or Schaum's.

But when it came down to the week before, my plan had been to lock myself in the library and study for 10+ hours a day, and I found that after 2-3 hours I felt like I had seen it all before. That was when I knew I was ready.

Anyway, good luck, I'm sure you'll do great! You too ddsjymaeng!

I'm not sure if I feel ready, but my test is still two weeks away (July 18th!).

I don't know if this started happening to you all a few weeks before the test but the other day I was eating some thai food on my lunch break and I began envisioning all the hormones and secretions being released by various glands and cells and peristalsis and chylomicrons and other words were flashing through my head.

Yesterday I was surfing and as I sat on the ocean I began thinking about sodium and chlorine concentrations and Ksp. Eventually a wave knocked me off my board.

Earlier today I took a nap and had a fevered dream about taking too long on one math problem while trying to take the DAT and then woke up.

Ready or not, I need to get this damn test over with cause it's starting to kill all the things I used to enjoy.
