Hey guys,

I am wondering how everyone is receiving notification of interview invites, acceptances, and rejections. Please share the school's name and whether your received these through email, phone call, or "snail mail". Hopefully we can put together a list of schools and their delivery methods so everyone knows what to expect. Also, if you received a notification through "snail mail", please list if it was to your mailing address or permanent home address.

Thanks!

I don't think this thread/idea will really help people that much.

I guess it may be more efficient asking if any schools actually use regular mail to send these things... I am in a position where I am unable to check my permanent home address's mail, and I wanted to know if i'm gonna be missing something of significance.

Stanford. 🙁

As I left my house on a brisk Friday morning in August, a white van drove by with a little man who stuck his entire upper body out of the passenger side window to point in my direction. The van came to a screaching halt and the doors swung open. At this moment I almost paniced, I took a moment to glance behind me to make sure it was I who he pointed at; I saw no one. I began sweating perfusely and before I knew it I had been surrounded by 7 dwarves carrying broom sticks, stamps, papers, bats, and swords. After being briefly interrogated regarding my identity, I finally caved. At this moment one dwarf began wildly stamping the papers a second dwarf was holding out in front of him. After thirty seconds of chaotic stamping I was handed the papers now covered in red ink reading, "REJECTED". As if this wasn't enough, the dwarves pranced off singing an odd rejection themed song, while the driver of the van screamed obscenities at me over megaphone. I called in sick to work that day.

Virtually all schools will do interview invites via e-mail. However, acceptances/rejections vary.

I wonder what they do for an acceptance letter.

If you're current residence is still in the U.S., then consider going online to USPS and changing your address temporarily. This way, they'll forward all of your mail to your current residence for up to 1 year (or however long you see fit). If you're out of the country, then idunnolol.jpg

One by phone, one by an email that said my status had been updated and to check the website, and the rest via email.

I've learned to shred anything coming from a school I've applied to but at which I haven't interviewed.
