I like taking notes as I read a review book, then turning those notes into a review sheet that I put in my own words, then condensing that review sheet into the basic stuff I need to know, going back through that again possibly, and if you're a flash cards person..make your flash cards off your final, condensed review sheet.

Sounds like it takes longer than it really does, but it forces you to put things in your own words so you can both get some confirmation that you understand the material and review the material a number of times without the fluff and over wordiness of texts.

TBH this section is random and I'd say focus on your weak parts. For me it's plants, animal diversity, anatomy of certain structures. Use the tests to pin point those areas and I'm sure you will encounter some of your weakness on real DAT, so prepare well.

I'm focusing on my weak areas as well, which means diversity of life, plants, and certain parts of physiology. On the practices I just took, the questions I got wrong all fit into one of those areas, so try to lump your wrong questions into areas if they aren't already lumped for you.

if you are done with AP bio I would recommend to start practicing with DAT destroyer questions, also there are AP exams to check if you know every thing in Cliff's AP bio book (PM me if you need them) I also practices with myCell bio quizzes you can access them for free at

if the above link doesnot show then go to http://garlandscience.com/ select Student resources then select Essential Cel biology ,3E then under text book resources select all chapter then select quizzes.
or you can use these too.

Yay, bio is super random. I ready the AP Cliffs twice, but I was very fortunate that I did well on my bio section by luck. I recommend taking notes and make flashcards. Also, a good way to think is to think like a test taker. As you study, come up with questions that you think that are likely to come up the test.
