How do I become a neonatologist?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
1. It is hard, as 80 hours/week is tough. I suggest you read, but don't post in the general residency forum about residency life. There are some good books, websites and even twitter feeds about all this you can find if you could find SDN.
2. You take care of sick patients, in this case children. You do this with some supervision. Good to read up on this. Specific to neonatology try this: http://neonatology.org/career/default.html
3. You get to keep taking care of sick babies, but get paid more to do it and are the person to charge.
4. Most debt will likely be in medical school. It means living cautiously after fellowship, but it's certainly possible.

Keep reading about pediatrics and neonatology. We're nice on this forum to all levels of folks who ask questions, but you might want to check out SDN's high school forum as that's where it's best to post while in h.s. We'll find your questions there.

Good luck to you!
