I did 36 hours of volunteering, 3~4 months of research experience and was member of several activities.

But how do i prove that i had volunteer hours, research experience and were in activities?

I seriously don't know how to prove these.

The person who was in charge of research expereience went back to his country :scared:

the library volunteer hour sheets will be burned to celebrate christmas :scared:

school activities don't provide anything either, and they all graduate this year.

You're pretty much on the honor system. Stop freaking out and tell the truth. They won't ask you to have proof of what you've done every single hour of your life. 😉

I'm not even sure they care that much.

You can bet there are plenty of students admitted who have very little time shadowing, volunteering, etc. It doesn't hurt to have 300 hours of shadowing and another 200 of volunteering to walk old ladies across the street, but they're not going to admit you based on those factors.

But if you're worried, next time you do anything philanthropic, research anything (or do anything related to your quest to become a dentist) just record it with your handy cell phone movie camera, then carry it with you to your interview.

well it would be great to get letters from some of the supervisors of these activities...i.e. research professor or shadowing dentist. and i'm pretty sure that when they interview you, they will get a good feel for what you wrote in your app, and i think that's proof enough. they'll be able to tell who's honest on their app, and they trust us as professionals, so no need to worry. you won't need tangible proof.

wtf are u crying about, they never ask u to prove anything a question might come up on an interview other than that they care about much more important things. i did 90hrs of shadowing and 3 years full time research with publications and at interviews they didnt ask me one question about those things.

You don;t have to get letters of recommendation from everyone saying you did what you did. A couple of people will just add some credibility to your application. AADSAS has the option of filling out ten various awards you may have achieved. I filled out five of them.

There is no way I could go and get a letter from a supervisor for each of the five awards I got. That being said you do not need any proof of the things you did, received, etc.

Just make sure you don't fudge anything, just in case the school checks. I am also sure they have a good eye for seeing through BS too, they do review 3500 applicants each year.

If they care about a particular activity, you'll prove it at the interview. If you really did the things you say you did, you'll be able to talk intelligently about them. But they aren't going to say, "Well, if you volunteered for 36 hours at the library, we'll admit you, but if you only volunteered 35 hours, you're SOL."

What I know from my friend's experience is that they never did any of the volunteer work, shadowing or research but they lied and said they did each activity over 100 hours. And the fact that there is no way to prove or disprove this makes me mad because I spent so much time to get a little more chance than others and there are people taking advantage of this.

honestly, to the OP, just give the adcoms your sn for studentdoctor, and it will show them how passionate you are about the dat and dentistry in general. You do need to relax a little also.

yea def relax, and also with your stats in your sig, might aswell add your social security # haha

but I believe someone said that we might need the letter from the dentist that we shadowed. Doesn't this mean some of the dental schools actually want us to prove what we did beside GPA+DAT?

You can list any thing you want and you don't have to prove what you did. But you should list things that you did only. Fabrication is difficult to be proven. But if they found out any fabrication made, then one's educational career is over by the time they did (I wouldn't attempt to fabricate anything lol).

shadow and volunteer for another dentist perhaps?

Why not contact the research supervisor back in their country? For all the other activities it sounds like you can still contact the people. Absolutely do not fabricate, not only is it wrong but it only takes one school to figure it out and your whole app is sunk.
