How do I seek out grant writing experience?

I am a 4th year PhD clinical student and was wondering how to acquire grant writing experience outside the clinical department (no one here is involved in it). Any ideas?

I know a few grad students at my program who looked for worksops held at conferences on grant writing.It is a good way to get your foot in the door.
