How do schools know if the courses listed on your transcript include lab?

for example, let's say dental school ABC wants me to take 4 credits of biology with lab. My transcript just says "General Biology 1" with 4 credits completed. I took lab with it, but the transcript doesn't make that apparent.

In addition, dental school ABC also wants me to take 4 credits of microbiology with lab. My transcript says "Microbiology" with 4 credits completed, but it didn't come with lab. I've met the minimum credit requirements though, but there was no lab attached.

how do schools know if we took lab or not if the transcript doesn't make that clear?

Do schools just trust our judgement when we populate the courses ourselves onto AADSAS under their prereqs? Do schools take the time to research college courses/syllabi to make certain that we met the prereq requirement? What if I got accepted into dental school ABC and I haven't taken the lab portion? Would they rescind my acceptance? How would they be able to find out that I haven't, even if I met the credit number requirement and my transcript doesn't make it clear?

thanks!

They will see that it is 4 credits which is more than the usual 3 credits if you only take the class. Also schools will email you if they need to verify that information. They usually ask for course description or syllabus

right, but for my general bio and microbio classes they were both 4 credits, except one had lab and one did not. I took the microbio course (without lab) at another school, so their course credit system I guess was a little different. I was already accepted into that dental school, but they never asked for verification or anything? that's why i'm confused 😵

Oh that’s odd. Idk then haha. I’ve just had a friend that was asked for their syllabus because their credits didn’t make sense

But yo if they never asked then you are fine!! Hahah enjoy the next couple months before D school! You got nothing to worry about

Mine was like that too, just put it in the way it is on your transcript. Dental Schools generally know how the school's units work. Dental Schools receive applications from thousands of students every year and a lot of them are coming from the same school as you! If they don't ask to clarify, then you are fine!

What @turtleburtle77 said. Plus if they have any questions about something they usually ask for you to send the syllabus of the course. My university offers several versions of biology and I know the pre nurse one doesn’t count for med dent so I assume the D schools are just checking stuff like that out.
