How do schools look at an applicant with an EMT-B?

Hello everyone. I've always wanted to get an EMT certification; I think I'd do it even if I wasn't pre-med. I know schools look upon this favorably, but how much so? Thank you in advance for you help.

It only matters if you USE your EMT-B. That is actually treating and having contact with patients. If you work as an EMT in an ambulance or in an ER then that looks great. Tons of pre-meds get their EMT just for the resume thing, but it is useless unless you practice.
