I finally got around to applying to my first set of programs... how do we find out when we've been granted an interview? Thanks 👍

Email, phone or Eras email, depends on program.

They sent a notice to my Messages box on my ERAS account and a copy to the email acount that I had given them when I set up my account. I hink that the vast majority of programs will start notifying beginning next week but aProgDirector would be a better person than me to confirm this. Do a search. He answered many of my questions via other forums. Hope this helps!

Also make sure to check your Junk Mail box because invites have been known to go there or to be blocked by Hotmail and some other ISPs.

If you submitted a complete application, then yes. If you haven't heard anything by mid Nov, you should definitely contact the program.

Really? Because I'm still waiting to hear from programs I applied to 8 years ago!

It may be that ERAS makes it easier for programs to contact you these days so programs can easily send out invites and rejections rather than individually calling or writing applicants (which is how it was in the old days).

If it's for internal medicine or a medicine subspecialty fellowship, it varies whether they bother to reject you vs. not. A lot of places will send you a rejection, but some do it so late that it doesn't really matter (i.e. you've figured out already that you are getting rejected). Some may never bother to let you know you've been rejected.

I just learned that the osteopathic applications were available in 😱 July 😱 and I thought I was behind applying a week late (when I thought apps opened 9/2). With sub-stellar scores, I think I'm pretty screwed 👎 What's the usual timetable between when the program downloads your application to being offered an interview?

Depends on the program.

Some use filters and invite those who clear the filters right away. Others wait until the committee meets (which is also variable).

Some will have a second round of invites after the first go out. I've heard of people getting invited as soon as the day after their app went in, to as late as early January.
