How do you count GPA? Weird case

In general, I believe to count the cumGPA or BCMP GPA, it is counts anything that's "undergrad level" regardless when you took it. Is this correct?


But recently, I apply to a postbac program and they only count my GPA from the university that I got my BA, which kind screwed me up. Is this the case for all the program or it is just that this one is weird?

Shouldn't they count the GPA from community college too?

Little background: I took tons of UC/CSU transferable community college classes during high school years and managed to get an AA at the same time as I graduate from high school. Then, I went to a 4 year university.

That doesn't seem too weird since different programs (medical school vs a post-bacc) would have different policies on what gpa's they accept.

Edit: Your community college credits if they were the ones you took in highschool, may be the reason they're not accepting it. Then again, maybe they're not accepting it regardless. But it is unique to the post-bacc probably.

I had a few community college credits from high school. They were counted in my AMCAS GPA.

There are a lot of masters programs that do this, others will only use your last 60 or 90 hours. It is a way to give some amount of forgiveness to young students and it shows what you have done lately. Some even use a combination of your last 60 and your cumulative GPA to get an idea of how an applicant has matured. Unfortunately none of the medical schools will do this.
