does anyone know what the weather is like out there - is it sunny? hazy? is the town really boring? where are the people that actually go there??

Weather in so cal is very nice, most of the time are sunny outside. Winter might get a little cold, but a decent jacket will get you through the coldest month. Western is located in Pomona, the city is a bit boring itself, but there are many places (malls, bars, theme parks, etc) to visit within 40 min of drive.

Pomona is usually sunny. They have good weather because it's in the san gabriel valley/inland empire part of LA County. The LA county fair is there.
