I average about 15 questions an hour.. to get through 2 blocks of 48Qs takes me almost 6 hrs..and I m usually so tired by the end. Does that sound about right or am I taking too long?

I usually go in tutor mode.. I always read the entire explanation and usually annotate A LOT as I go. I m scoring in the upper 60%s... I m learning a ton from the questions and they are undoubtly the best resource we have; but thats the thing if the UWorld is soo soo good how do people crank out blocks of 48Qs like they re not a big deal? Most of the questions teach me something new or explain something I already knew but in a different prespective.. it cant imagine one would retain much moving much faster than 4mins per question (especially factoring time to read the explanation and annotate).

Do you guys think I m moving at a good pace or do I need to pick it up??

Are people who move too quickly through UWorld fooling themselves and potentially wasting a valuable resource considering that they may have completed Uworld but not actually retained much??

I just (5 minutes ago) finished uworld. It took me about a month, and I did about 60 questions a night, which works out to 20 questions an hour. I think that's a reasonable speed. You might need to pick up the pace a little if you want to finish.

I think it takes me 4 hrs to get through 2 blocks a day. I do them timed blocks in the morning though and go over them before bed.

For what it's worth, I took ~6 hours to do and review two blocks. I spent a lot of time on UWORLD and read everything. I did all my blocks timed/48q/random. I think the 5.5-6.5 hours a day I spent on UWORLD was were most of my real studying happened. Some days I would do a crap job of reading FA, but I always felt satisfied at the end of the day by doing UWORLD (did 2 blocks every night from 6pm-11pm or 12am). I wouldn't feel bad spending 6 hours as long as you are extracting the info from it and feel like you are learing stuff. If you get to the 7 hour point though, you are going way to slow (I did several times, lol).

Alright, I wasn't suppose to post on SDN, but I couldn't stay away! Saw that MilkManAl is still posting, and we have our exams on the same day.

I just started UW a few days ago and I do timed blocks of 48 questions and then go over the explanations in 30-45 minutes, sometimes up to an hour. I read the whole explanation for questions that I got wrong or marked. For questions that I got right and was 100% sure of, I just read the educational objective at the bottom, which is usually 1-2 lines. I try not to waste too much time on concepts I already know well. I do annotate some things into first aid, and yes this is a very time-consuming process, so I try to minimize it to only essential or very high yield information.

When I started out, I used to read everything. It used to take me 6 hours on the dot to do 2 blocks + read everything and take a few notes. Now, I read faster, sometimes just read the EO, and have cut down to 4-5 hours for 2 blocks. Doesn't seem like a lot, but makes all the difference....
