Darwin's Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection 1. Populations have huge reproductive potential.
2. Population size is stable.
3. Resources are limited.
4. Individuals compete for resources.
5. Variation among individuals.
6. Variation is Heritable.
7. Only the most fit survive.
8. Favorable traits accumulate in the population which causes evolution.


Just wondering, because it wouldn't make sense to make 8-9 separate flash cards. I guess i could try the acronym method, but i usually like that with anatomy where its only one word per letter. Any ideas?

Didn't have a hard time with knowing that. It was just kind of understanding darwin. Darwin said species compete and are different so there is variation.

So based on that you should be able to reason most of them out.

Other stuff to memorize like which cell forms xxx. I do acronyms or like which cells secrete pepsin in the stomach? Chief cells. So I just memorize the first two letters of each word "PC." P for pepsin and C for chief cells.

Yeah, that's not really a list to memorize. Maybe memorize the assumptions of HW equilibrium which includes no natural selection. I didn't use many acronymns except maybe SOH CAH TOA for trig and SAME DAVE.

Just curious, where did you find that list?

regarding #8, Id probably understand that natural selections leads to a change in allele freq w/i a population = evolution, and that evolution acts on populations, not individuals.
