Mobius,
Constant repitition. This applies on the small scale in life (such as getting good grades) but it also applies on a larger scale.
You typically remember things that you use. You'll get a refresher on some of that DAT material when you enter dental school, but the pertinent things you need to remember are the ones you'll be using over and over again as a dentist.
I remember when I was a freshman thinking "I'll never remember these concepts". Now, several years later, I know the Krebs cycle, acid/base reactions, body systems, etc. like the back of my hand.
If you study and think about things long enough they'll become a part of you. I never knew that science would play such a big part of my life, but it does.
My advice to you is to refresh yourself every now and then. Hopefully many of your classes build upon previous concepts. Take time every now and then to pull out your old books and read a chapter here and there. You'll probably be surprised at how much you've learned AND how much you've remembered.
I KNOW I didn't enter undergrad knowing about science the way I do now, but the really cool/neat thing is that I don't remember what it was like BEFORE I knew about it in the depth I do now.
