So as I am counting down the minutes to my calculus test in about 2 hours I find my mind drifting to various subjects that does not include... in any way... calculus. In other words, I'm procrastinating. As my mind is drifting I find myself thinking:

"Sometimes I feel myself slightly going crazy being a pre-med 😱, with all the studying, personal statements, MCATs and such."

So I'm just curious is there anyone else out there that feels this way? And if there is what do you do to stay sane?

I fine working out helps, as well as listening to music and dancing to myself while I'm studying... although it makes the people sitting next to me in the library on the next computer crazy

True... definitely true. Everyone already thinks I'm crazy for it. Might as well keep the title.

Go have fun some nights. Call up some friends, go to the movies, get a romantic partner, watch TV with family. Just do normal things whenever you have the time and don't let your work consume you. It's good to have a balance.

Yea that helps. I have to catch myself sometime because I get really caught up in my work.

Personally, I regulate myself with mood altering medication. It's not recommended or considered healthy but... I like it.

Me I don't drink but I do browse on facebook. Get out work on a hobby. Go on this fourm.

I'm trying to become a Pokemon master. So far it's not going so well.

I definitely didn't stay sane as an undergrad, but now that I'm waiting to hear back from schools, I do a combination of the following while I'm not at work: work out, get hooked on TV shows (Dexter, Walking Dead), drink much more often, and read lots and lots of fiction.

Whenever I feel stressed, I get a bucket of balls at the range and work on the accuracy of my irons.

I love reading fiction. I wish I had more time to read. That would keep me sane. And I love Dexter

Exercise, specifically running. It's the only time during the week I'm not worked up over studying, assignments, ECs, etc. The only thing going through my head is how much I hate myself in the moment, but it's always worth it afterwards. Gotta love the runner's high

Crossfit and Rugby. Lifting weights double your body weight while doing plyo work and tackling a guy to the ground gets the edge off when you take your exams. Its like nothing could be much worse.

I take mornings off to play my guitar. And shop online. And do useless dumb things I normally wouldn't let myself do. It makes me feel like a normal non-premed person again. Sometimes you just hve to listen to yourself and give yourself a break. 🙁
