Probably been discussed, but any hints/specifics?

I'm having a tough time memorizing charts and tables of diseases and ailments that only slightly differ in certain characteristics.

Don't memorize. Learn why one, or a couple of them, are the way they are -- and then start comparing/contrasting.

You learn them when you start to apply them. I had the hardest time with charts in the beginning of third year. Now, I make everything into a chart lol

Make the chart yourself. Maybe reorganizing the chart will help the information stick. I reorganized all my muscle attachment/innervation charts by nerves, which helps.

Another way is to cover up a piece of the chart and fill in the blanks.

Or you can also just not use the chart. Just regroup the diseases into a big category of having x and y characteristics in common, then remember how each disease is slightly different. Not only will you have an easier time remembering the material, but this is also how your MCQ questions will likely test you on the information. Eg, Blah blah blah, all the following conditions can be ruled out except... a) __ b) __ etc.

Fill in excel sheet table. Then delete.
Rinse & Repeat.
