I had this exact problem, except I actually liked my textbook. I had different professors for both semesters; we thought the first was bad, and were shocked when the second was even worse. Unfortunately I managed to get by with a good grade without learning the material well enough, which is haunting me now as I study for the MCAT. My best advice is to really try your best to learn it as well as possible because it will help you in the future.
What book do you use? We used McMurry, and it's good. My friend and I got together to study and went over reactions a ton of times together. I never ever study with another person, but for this particular class it really helped. We would study for hours and I would get exhausted to the point where I started trying to act out reactions like I was a molecule. Like Hermit MMood said, buy a model set (but that's mostly helpful for first semester, not second).
The other day I wanted to look something up in my textbook because it wasn't explained well enough in the MCAT review book, so I went to the bookshelf and picked up the textbook. I took it to the table and told my husband, "chapter 7", and then opened the book up to the right reaction. I studied that darn thing so much that now, 2 years later, I still remember what chapters the reactions in! My husband was laughing at me. Perhaps a sad story 😛
