How does one become a hospital CEO?

i realize it is a very difficult position to obtain... what qualifications are usually needed?

1. do you usually need to be a physcian?
2. which of the following is most preferred: MBA, MHA, or MPH?
3. is residency training needed?
4. what is the usual progression progression up the ladder? obviously, one does not just show up and become a hospital CEO overnight.

any insight would be appreciated. thanks.

Potential CEOs come from COOs, CFOs, CMOs, etc...so first of all u gotta reach those positions and then maybe if you kno someone, they can make you the CEO
