If you are looking to go someplace new after graduating, and the chains are not actively recruiting for those areas, how does one even go about relocating? Can't move without a job, but sending resumes out online is doubtful to get you anywhere

Try to transfer with Target or whoever. You know it's bad when even the major chains like Rite Aid aren't hiring in areas. Or move there without a job and just work waiting tables or whatever until a job turns up, which is going to be me next year. I'll keep you posted on what happens.

Mmm... this may seem slightly unrelated, but have you looked at the Job-hunting Resource thread?

Take indeed.com, for example. Once you found an interesting job, go to that employer's website and apply directly there. Then after +/-1 week, call HR to follow up and see if there are any additional documents with which you can supplement. Networking is great, of course, but to an unemployed new grad, it may seem like a vicious cycle; challenging to network when unemployed, difficult to find jobs without networking...

You may also have some luck finding Per Diem work, as a way to get your foot inside the door. But any jobs will be competitive period in larger cities.

Don't give up, try your best, and best of luck 🙂

Call any recruiter. RxRelief etc, etc. You can easily redo NAPLEX prn for a quick move to a state you are unlicensed in. They will stick u in the ninth circle of hell 😒 to suit their own objectives so call 👎a couple and see what u get. It is a lot like the wheeling and dealing required with car shopping. 😎

Cold call any indies in your geo loco of interest. Just ask for the pharmacist before you give your spiel. I am like Tarzan of independent jungle I kid you not. I worked for one indie for 5 years in which time he sold to SlavinS. They drove me to give notice and on my last day I randomly stopped in the competitors to extend availability (and I could because I always play nice) stayed there for 3 years. Then took a edu sabbatical but the glut hits. Now it sucks. I struggle and struggle then six years later (which was also two months ago) out of the blue the second boss calls me to cover for her in a stick at another indie even further up the street:woot:. I get a handful of shifts and expand the mini-network. Guess what else? A member of the new mini-network passes me one of their no longer needed part time gigs.🤣 Yeah! Indie connects are the best. If only they would stop selling out!:mooning:

Give it a try. If no leads go "car" shopping. Hopefully the ninth circle can be your spring board. In a way it was mine but I will spare you all of that.

I'm looking at the possible idea of relocating too. I've been contacting pharmacists/preceptors to ask for their recruiters information. So far, I've spoken to a few recruiters and it looks like they want licensed pharmacists. Now I don't know if I want to spend the $$ to get licensed in a state where I may or may not get a position. Advice?
