I agree. The article raises good points.
I'm guessing this article is meant to play off of the book by Dale Carnegie How to Win Friends and Influence People, essentially all they are doing is applying his principles to their craft.

I know of a certain pharma company that pays for their female reps' gym memberships. Gotta keep them thighs toned for the short skirts....
