Hi ,
I am new to this forum. I recently came to know about SDN. If any of you can give me some advice that would be of great help.
I just gave my part 1 . I got a score of 88 . I really dont know if it is a good score or a below average score .
I dont know what to do . Should I read for part 2 or should i read for part 1 again .
I had given CBT in first week of may . I think was thinking I did really well . I dont know what happened .

Hi Sophia
I think its a good score.I know people who have a score of 85 and they are sitting and hoping to get a call qnd You have a score of 88, But if u really want u should improve your score cos you still have time to write again and then apply to many Universities in due time. I am also new to this site. and preparing to write in July(Part 1).Can u please give me some advice regarding the exam.Did you do anything else apart from the Decks, ASDA papers or Rudman's Q & A?
Please help , I ll really appreciate.
And I hope you will succeed with this score.
Regards
Toshiba.

Actually that's the wrong question. The right question will be not wether how good or bad an 88 is, but who are you and what do you represent and offer to schools? so basically the 88's value depends on your nationality and personality, not on its number. Good luck :luck:

Hi Meggs

Is that true? My interview experience taught me all they are looking for is a number. Of course my experiences are limited to UPenn and NYU!

Numbers only get an interview, attitude can get you the admission. SDN is the living proof of that. You guys are new here so you didn't get to see the best of this forum when statistics where calculated, data charted and everything. People with 90's got several interviews and no admissions. And people with low 80's got admited.

If you hang around this forum long enough you'll see that numbers are not everything, but defitnely they do are an important part, at least to get you an interview. :luck:

Hi inder

Two important Qs are

1) Do you have to pay for this clinical research?
2) Does it consolidate your position to secure a seat in NYU for 2006?

If answer to both of them are yes then you have to decide whether you want to pay an extra $$$ to secure a seat. It could be a better way than to retake Part 1 and reapply and then face uncertainties all over again! Choice is yours. Another thing is if you have 25+ years of practicing life ahead then you can get back all those $$$ spent many times over!

I hope this helps. BTW when did you get the offer for Clinical Research Program from NYU?

:luck:

Honestly that NYU program sounds to me like a money squeezers. When I applied in 2003, inmediatly after they sent me a reject letter they also sent an invitation for the then new Clinical Research Program; talk about shameless!!!!

It seems to me is NYU (the most expensive school) to make money out of mostly desperate foreigh trained dentist. They're shameless. 😎
