How good is examkrackers complete study guide set?

did anyone use the examkrackers complete study set as prep for the mcat and how does it compare to other prep materials???

Yes, it's great. I didn't use other prep. materials very much because I am scoring ~35 on practice tests, but I DID skim some other materials and read the sections which seemed interesting/different from EK.

Things I liked about other prep. materials: TPR has a good strategy for the WS section. Kaplan and TPR offer some additional insights about the VR section, but, so far, EKs verbal advice has helped the most.

For the sciences, I think the EK books are the best. The others seem to go into way too much detail that isn't tested on the MCAT.

they are really good REVIEW books (everything you need to KNOW is bolded and underlined). But you must know the underlying concepts that are associated with each topic. I started off using the Kaplan Review Books. I really liked them b/c they were much easier to understand than Examkrackers. But then used Examkrackers to figure out what topics are a MUST.

PR books go into way too much detail. Kaplan is bit more concise. But if you don't understand something in examkrackers, its very useful to have either kaplan or PR books to look at. So I would suggest studying with kaplan or PR first to understand everything and then turning to examkrackers for review.

However, if you want to improve Verbal, EK 101 passages is probably the best. The strategies didn't really work for me but may work for you.

i liked EK much better than the kaplan complete MCAT book. EK has lots of charts and graphs, reads more like prose, and gives you only what you need. This is my style. maybe it's yours.

biology, orgo, and verbal(verbal 101) are excellent!!
chem and physics are pretty good.

read the 30+ MCAT thread and read what EK users have to say and compare it to the other prep companies.

I have the EK study guide set, and I love it. I'm also taking Kaplan, but ever since my EK books arrived my Kaplan stuff has been collecting dust on my bookshelf. For me, the EK stuff explains topics better, has less extraneous info, and the colors and pictures help keep my interest longer.
