how hard is it to get into UIC?

Does anyone know how hard it is to get into UIC (university of Illinois at Chicago) dental school, especially for out of staters?

Not to shatter your hopes or anything, but it is extremely difficult to get into UIC as an out-of-state applicant. There are tons of qualified in-state applicants and there are only 2 schools in Illinois (SIU is the other), a state with a huge population. They closed Loyola and Northwestern Dental Schools around 1990, which has made it extremely competitive since then; it's part of the reason why UIC accepts so few out-of-staters. UIC is by no means as competitive as the top-tier schools overall, but it is almost that competitive for out-of-staters. Good luck!

It's definitely tough to get into UIC as an out of state student and even now as a in state student. Because for the entire population of Chicago and suburbs (Chicago being the third largest metropolitan area in the U.S.) there is only UIC college of dentistry now (with closure of Loyola in mid 1990's and Northwestern in year 2001)and they only take around 64 to 69 students a year which is really nothing!
