I think you totally are fine. I did about 325 hours OMFS when I applied and I mentioned a blurb on my personal statement about it. As long as you don't say you are going to pursue it or are like only going for OMFS I think you should be okay. Honestly, I would highlight these experiences in your interview and show the extensive work in the dental field. I think you are overthinking everything. Good luck!!

With a 24 DAT, 3.9 GPA, tons of extracurricular, etc., talking about OMFS on your personal statement “a little too much” will not make a difference. You’ll get in to many schools. Basically, relax — you have a killer app. Just enjoy the process and study up on the individual school prior to each interview you will inevitabley get. Good luck!

Hey thanks a ton man! Did any of your interviewers grill you for it or look at it negatively? I would just hate for my ambition and passion towards this field be my Achilles heel.

Just a little bit. I think the Maryland guy did because he was an OMFS faculty. But nothing you wouldn't be able to handle. Let me know if I can help in any other way!

I think certain schools actually wouldn't mind you being upfront about specializing. I interviewed at Penn and UCLA and both those acknowledged the fact that they cater towards producing specialists.
