It's been a few months since I submitted my applications and my app is under review. I'm having trouble getting into classes (any if at all), so I'm wondering how bad is it really if I just not take any classes this semester despite publicizing that I plan to take at least one.

if they are pre-requisites, try to email the professor to give you a permit to sign-up for the class. If they aren't, it's fine to switch them with your spring classes.
