For those of you who have taken the exam, should we just focus on the major products of cell resp and photosynthesis? For the endocrine system, should we just know the hormones, where they are produced, and where they target?

Thanks guys!
I don't want to waste time going overboard on these subjects lol

I think the endocrine one is the toughest one...there are 20+ hormones and they require a LOT of memorization.
Cell Resp and photosynthesis are pretty easy as long as you don't start memorizing the carrier protein names or the intermediate products 🙂

I had no questions on any of that stuff. The DAT seem to be leaning heavily towards genetics, embryology, elecology, and evolution.

ughhh how the heck can we study EVERYTHING in depth so that we don't miss those stupid specfic q's...are q's REALLLy as specific as destroyer? if so, then all i have to say is AHHHHH.

Yea,

Its mostly application, but I didnt think it was too bad. Memorization will not be enough. You have to reason your way through some of the questions. I think the consensus is that every test has about 5 really weird questions that no matter how much you study you will not see it on any text.

depending on the version you take. They all vary.

I am not sure how many versions of the test there are, but I think its 5. From what I can see, at least 3 of 5 tests do not cover the human system very much.

This is just my observation with reading people's posts.

Honestly, the only way you will find out the answer to this question is when you take the DAT.

so u guys are saying that the DAT doesn't follow the guidelines outlined by the ADA? i mean how can 1 exam have NO physiology q's and another exam be packed with them? according to the ADA there shouldn't be more than 4 ecology/evolution q's

do you have the link to where i can see where they say whats on the test and in what portion? thanks in advance

hey,

just go on the ada website and its on the right hand side..test specfics or something. it's a pdf.

good luck!

...tnx man lol

If you have been reading as many posts as I have, you would be surprised to find out that some people come out saying they had 10 ecology questions and some had 20 cell questions. It happens...a LOT.

Don't look at that thing. Just assume you'll get a fair amount of every topic
