How interviews are dished out

If you applied to a program very early, said program subsequently handed out a 1st round of interviews, and you were passed over, does this usually mean that you aren't going to be offered an interview? (I realize there are many variables from program to program, but I want some general thoughts from those who have knowledge of this process.)

I doubt it's the same with every program. And there's no way to know if you didn't get invited because you didn't make the cut or whether you didn't get one because the first round of interviews simply filled up with comparable folks they looked at first, or folks with all their LORs in etc. If the latter, I see no reason your app wouldn't be in the running for the next batch.

2. Throw set amount of darts.
3. Those applications with darts in them get interviews.

It may seem this way from the outside. To the OP, every program is different. There is nothing you can do now but wait.
