Just wondering what things everyone is planning on doing from now until the beginning of our first year of medical school? Such as working out/getting in shape, eating healthy, doing different activities. It would be fun to know how everyone is getting their life in order or prepping for our medical ***** whooping?

I'm kinda just letting go of worry for awhile. Everything else is pretty steady, but just adjusting mindset. I'll have plenty of time later to freak out. The only tangible thing I've done otherwise is that I started looking into m1 books (not assigned texts, but what people actually use - via a thread I started).

If this thread applies to me next year, then I will get as buff as possible. In fact, I will become like Ronnie Coleman just without the steroids. Already know some of the bones but getting familiar with most of the muscles sounds like a good idea. So yeah, I would study up on some basic anatomy so it's easier to take in once there's a heap of other things to learn. Oh, did I mention getting buff? 😛

Good luck getting buff in a year without roids, bruh.

Have to get in shape so I look good for the physical examination stuff.

:naughty:

I always go on a health binge during the summers anyway, so that won't any different. Other than that, I think I just need a lot of R&R, video games, comic books, and movies!

I would love to travel, but I have no idea if it's going to be financially feasible. Probably just a lot of working out and sleeping 😀

Already completed my first pass of First Aid for Step 1.

I smell that 270+ score

uh, working, playing video games, drinking and lifting. The best med school prep there is

Going to Europe (Vienna, Hungary, Czech) in May.

Just be lazy, surf, and maybe rank up on zombies for BO2.

step 1: get attractive
step 2: find smart medical student female
step 3: ???????
step 4: become trophy husband and profit

Bed time? Please.

My mom played that **** to me on headphones when I was in utero.

In utero? Please.

My Mom was reading that **** when I was conceived.

Relax, spend time with my wife, move across the country....and probably start thinking about different study methods as school gets closer.

Edit: Come to think of it, "thinking" about studying describes the better portion of my last undergrad semester as well...

Trying to get in shape, improving my cooking skills (nvr knew that a slow cooker is so versatile), and relaxing.

Sent from my Galaxy S2

Getting in as good a shape as possible before class starts. That is the ONLY thing I'm working on this summer after I finish with work mid-May.

If I could "prepare for med school" again, I would have stopped working, called up more friends, and spent that summer day-drinking.

I think I'm going to work so I can save some money for new furniture when I move. I'm looking for a nanny gig.

Y'all should buy a slow cooker and freeze what you make. Guaranteed there will be weeks at a time (exam weeks) when you don't want to cook, and you can make a week's worth of food in one afternoon and save money. Best cooking invention ever.

Day drinking... the best kind of drinking! No need to stop that habit once med school starts!

Survivor DO

Sleep.

Hanging out with friends.

Reading & watching an insane amount of "How I Met Your Mother"

Winter is coming.

Winter is coming.

+1 can't wait for season 3! And agree with everyone just trying to make the most of the last of my free time... But it is surprisingly stressful trying to choose between schools and get everything ready for next year (finances and housing etc)

Good stress to have, though. Minus the loans 😛

Greatest thing ever, slow cookers. You can even bake (easy, no-knead) bread in 'em: http://www.artisanbreadinfive.com/2012/05/29/crock-pot-bread-baking-fast-bread-in-a-slow-cooker

And make yogurt: http://crockpot365.blogspot.ca/2008/10/you-can-make-yogurt-in-your-crockpot.html

Overnight breakfasts are fun in the slow cooker too. That second link is for a blog of a lady who used her slow cooker every day for a year, so there are tons of recipes on her site if you're looking for ideas.

The majority of my cooking is done in a slow cooker because I'm lazy and hate cooking. We own three (in various sizes) because I use them so much (and some times more than one a day, like if I've got a loaf of bread in one and soup in another).

Sorry to derail the thread a bit. I get irrationally excited about slow cookers because they save me from spending time in the kitchen.

None of my non med friends seem to understand why I plan to stop working early June and take the summer off... lol its NECESSARY

How to prepare for M1: do nothing, stop caring about classes (if you're in them), get into a gym routine if you haven't already, make the best of the time that you have left with your college friends

Nick definitely said it.

Do the the things you enjoy and are passionate about. The real ones this time. 😉

I approve this message.

Super excited for Season 3 😍 Have also recently gotten into the show Arrow.

As for me, I'm spending a ton of my time training for NPC Bodybuilding Competitions, hanging out with friends, and traveling to Europe for 2 weeks in May. I figure we should get in the best shape possible before med school, because after it starts it's just a slow decline... :meanie:

Visiting the motherland with both of my parents - last time we all went back at the same time, I think I was 5 years old. Also (hopefully) hanging out with my best friend from elementary/middle/high school before she goes back to Cali for her PhD. 🙂

Bachelor Party, Get Married, Travel Through South America, Drink, Gym,

Find a place to live and start thinking/researching more about specialties.

Oh and I need to graduate too. 🙂

Quitting work in a couple of weeks, trying to make out this semester with nothing below a C, getting married in May, moving, relaxing, and enjoying my new home and being a newly wed.

I'm sure 5-8 pounds of muscle will come with good work ethic (assuming no injuries 😳)

You do realize how much 5-8 pounds of muscle is natty right?

Just sayin'.

I'd be happy with 5lbs of muscle a year.
