How long before schools receive LORs?

I guess I should be used to waiting by now, but I sent in my letters of rec a week ago and no school has gotten them yet. The funny part is that I sent my UCI secondary and it was on the status page as received the very next day(!!!), but no LORs yet.

For all you that are complete, how long between the time you sent them and the time they received them?

Hey,

There are several places where lags can occur in the process, most notably the people sending it and the people recieving it. For example, I sent letters to a med school in the same city last Tues/Wed, and they just arrived there today. This is because my school's letter center probably took a few days to send it out. However, the slow step (from what I've heard) is usually the med school's filing of the letters and updating of one's status. The postal service is not the most common source of delay, as people often assume. Just my thoughts.

Hey Chapinista,

My recs took 2-4 weeks from the day they were sent until they were received...So, hang in there....Some schools take longer than others...FOr me, NYMC was the fastest and GW was the slowest....I never realized that it took so long! I thought that my undergrad inst. was not being forthright about the day they sent them!

Now, if only I could get verified....
