So I completed all of my applications back in August/September 2010 and have been complete since then. I applied to 20 schools, have been rejected by 10 of them. I am wondering how long it took for you all to get an interview. I'm really hoping the long wait and list of rejections isn't a sign of more rejections to come.

It sounds like you're basically asking if you still have a chance at med school.

No interviews by January certainly isn't a good thing, but it's possible that a couple of invites will still come your way.

What are your stats? Which schools did you apply to? What state are you from? All these things matter...you could have a 3.8/35 but if you're a CA resident and applied to CA schools and top 10's, you might have shot yourself in the foot.

I am basically asking if I have a chance this year. I want to get an idea though of how long people usually wait before they start getting interviews. Because 4 months of waiting feels like forever and when some of my friends are accepted already, it's made me start to wonder.

My MDApps profile has all the schools I applied to. I've been realistic for the most part (some reach schools for sure that I have been rejected from). My cGPA: 3.5, sGPA: 3.4, MCAT: 27Q (10 BS, 7 PS, 10 VR). I've been adding DO schools recently to improve my chances (better late than never).

Oops, sorry, didn't see you had a MDApps

It does seem like you applied to a good range of schools. You might still get some interviews. The problem with asking people how long they waited for an interview is that it is very, very variable. I got my first interview a few weeks after being complete. Some people end up waiting until January for their first interview. I actually just got an interview for a school I'd been complete at for 5 months. There's always hope.

That 7 is going to get you screened at most MD schools. Even if it doesn't, that 27 is significantly below the median, as is the 3.5. Your best shot at this point is the D.O. schools...consider sending them update letters/letters of interest. Good luck.
