I know this has been discussed before, but I wasn't able to find the previous threads on this topic. Here is my question:

For those of you who have already taken the DAT and did well (i.e. Bio&Chems/PAT/AA of 20+), how long did you study for it? Example: studied 2 months for 4 hours a day, etc.

This will give me an idea of how to better time-manage.

Thank you.

I studied for about 6 weeks (a month and a half).

I started by reviewing the Kaplan blue book and made outlines of all the important material for each section. Then I would reivew it every morning and then begin to do practice problems. If I came accross a new equation or concept I would add it to my outline. This way all my material was well organized and I knew exactly where everything was.

I started at 2-4 hours a day and quickly worked up to about 7-8 hours a day. Once I felt confident with the material and individual practice problems I began to take full length exams. I got Topscore and DATachiever. I took Topscore exams first, they were actually easier on some areas then the read DAT. Then at the end I took DATachiever and spent A LOT of time reviewing worng answers - and that really helped!

Good luck.
