How long do PAs take at your pharmacy/clinic?

Just like the title, what is the average time it takes for a PA to go through for a medication? Is there a difference between specialists and PCP/GPs in terms of response time?

What is the most common PA that you guys get? Awkward dose, non-formulary drug, refill too many times or too soon, etc.

Just curious, trying to get a little bit of information for myself because I'm bored after taking a test and have 2 hours to kill 😎

Depends on the office bigtime, as well as what the issue is. Sometimes the office gets to them right away, sometimes it takes a week. Could be just a simple form to fill out, or a phone call for the prescriber to make, but sometimes it's a full questionnaire. I've had an eager new resident turn one around for me in under 45 minutes before.

seriously? what a waste of time. $4 drug anyone? Even if the pt was medicare, id just sell it to him for $2.5 or whatever. Saves me the time and waiting for a PA for a couple cent drug.

I'd agree with that. It costs more for the pharmacist to verify the rx than the actual money obtained, so I hear.

What was necessary for the PA? What justification was there to get the PA and what paperwork did ya need, Phat?
