How long do Temple and BU take to reply after interview?

I had interview at Temple dec 20th and Boston last week, just wondering when to expect to hear anything from them?

BU is pretty quick to reply. I got my acceptance letter 2 weeks after the interview! Good luck. 👍

Also, I have a question, did you go to BU for the interview because I did a regional interview (not such a good idea). What did you think of the campus/facilities and people there? Did the students seem happy? Was it a place you would really want to go?

What did you think of your interview? I had my interview on Dec. 8th and got accepted on Jan 8th so it took a month. But in that case you might be hearing soon since its been a month already. Good luck

lol yeah i got in..i thought my interview didnt go very well coz she asked me about my 2 bad grades (F's to be precise)...but i guess it wasnt bad in the end..
its where i'll most likely go.

BU was okay, I expected a lot better. The building seemed really rundown and old. The first/second year simlabs were nice, other than that I wasn't very pleased. The part that really got me thinking was the tour guide vs. the student we had lunch with. The tour guide told us that there are more than enough chairs for all students and that BU is the top 2% for board scores. When I asked the girl we had lunch with she told me that BU is prob in the bottom 2% and also that many students dont grad on time due to the lack of number of chairs. So far its the only school ive been accepted to and will go if i get into no other school. Hope that helps

Thats horrible....I can understand that adcoms are there to sell the school, but outright lying to the applicants is unethical in my opinion. It probably shows you what type of administration exists at BU.

Well the tour guide was a paid student as well....but funny thing is he told us he wasn't paid, but the student we had lunch with, told us he was paid (along with other students that help out with admissions, including herself)

they get a free lunch, they are not actually paid. And to Badvibes, try not to jump so quickly to your negative conclusions. Who knows your past with BU, but all these negative comments are getting pretty old

I appreciated your feedback about Temple and wrote you another PM but your box is full. In any case, I went last Wednesday to interview and thought it went well...after writing emails back and forth to Brian he told me I wouldnt be reviewed this week and they are slowing down the number of reviews due to the initial amount of applicant deposits they received (80). A friend of mine went to her interview 12/1 and received a letter about 10 days later...I am not so sure this is going to happen this quickly. Any thoughts on timeline? I am hoping it doesnt take over 2 months. Anyone else interview last Wednesday?

seriously badvibes...getting sick of ur negative comments. temple isnt THAT great of a school. hate the damn area. talking about adcoms selling the school, ALL they talk about in temple is their damn patients. i was sick of hearing at the end of the day about how many freakin patients temple students have. just because u go there doesnt mean do diss every other school. do u go to BU? then what gives u the right to diss it like that? talkin about their admin?
i'm sorry this is rude, but cant help it. at the end of the day, we're all gng to be dentists. some with more loans and some with less/none. if u work hard, ntn else matters. i'm more than happy with BU.

Hey ******...she didnt tell me that it was a student.....but if it was an admin, wouldnt you agree that it is unethical to do that, no matter what school they came from? If Brian Hahn from temple told outright lies like that, Im sure it would send a horrible message about the school, but he doesnt. He may irritate you by constantly reminding you about the number of patients we have, but can you blame him? His job is to sell the school, and our patients is our strength.

And about me bashing schools, you seem to only remember me doing only this but forget that I praise a ton of other schools as well? For instance, I think Tufts, UNC and Michigan are among the top schools in the nation. I apologize I cant say the same about BU.

ANd about the area at Temple, last time I checked BU wasnt beside the Ritz either. 🙂

Hey I dont know why you're gettin mad at me, I'm going to end up in that run down building myself. Its not like i'm going to Harvard myself! Someone asked for my opinion and I gave it. I'm not used to buildings that look they're about to fall apart. Considering we're paying CRAZY amounts to go there, it should be a little nicer...no?

At the end of the day, I'm thankful that I did get accepted there, but I didn't know it was a crime to offer an honest opinion for those who did not get a chance to visit!

I agree with Dr. Badvibes you are ******ed! Any staff member who tries to make an impression on new students by misleading them reminds me of a used car salesman. It in all likelyhood demonstrates the underlying principals and practices of the school in question. Dental schools are in biusness to make money, don't forget it. 👎
