How long does a preview score last?

Yes AAMC confirms this to be true.
A PREview score automatically goes to your AMCAS app just as the MCAT does.

Awesome! Just to be safe, I checked my schools and all confirmed this except Hackensack. Do you happen to know their policy?

Hackensack does not require PREview but in the past has asked for the CASPer test.
Check your emails from the school if you apply there to see if they still want it in 2026.

That’s why I recommended you check, I didn’t see them in the CASPer list either but MSAR suggests they want it.

Basically, PREview is a game of "21"... once you hit 7, stop. You have 4 lifetime chances to get 7.

I couldn't either. I wanted to contact them to see which one is needed, but again still no response yet. Considering that everyone who applied this past cycle used Casper I have to assume that's what they will stick with, but MSAR is making me doubt itUpdate: May 7, 2026

I didn't see their name in the Acuity Insights list.
I presume that once the cycle begins, they will clarify their position in their follow-up emails with applicants. It could be a checklist item after you sign into their applicant portal. We'll have to see, but I presume they'll ask for PREview.

Their website is outdated because it still talks about taking CASPer and Duet.
In fact Acuity Insights has discontinued the Duet assessment.
When you get emails from your schools this cycle they will tell you what they need from you for a complete application

The only thing I'm worried about is having to redo the preview. I am a reapplicant and got a 7 last year, every other school on my list that needs preview confirmed does not care if it's from an old cycle. This is the only one I couldn't find anything on

I can't imagine that they would be that picky. (I could be wrong, but it wouldn't make sense with the design of the test.) Again, proceed with your timeline, and let them answer questions once the cycle starts. You are probably not the only one asking.

For anyone who scored low on the PREview: I am applying to veterinary school again this year after getting waitlisted last year at my instate, and only one school I am applying to this year is leveraging PREview. It’s kind of an experiment as they have never used it before in admissions. Despite my background in leadership and executive facing roles with work, I scored a ONE. Hahah. I openly talked about it to the admissions rep. I tried calling AAMC to see if there was a grading error, perhaps. But they said they couldn’t speak to me about it (odd). Anyways, what’s meant to be will be! I figure that my LOR, essays, and experiences can show enough for an admissions committee to infer deeper into my professionalism. You got this! 💪🏼
Yipes. I don't know if there is a rescoring process, but AAMC should note what that process would be.
Since obviously the vet school is the guinea pig to use it for their process, you make a strong case as a negative example if the score stands up.
You have four lifetime chances to take PREview, if you are so inclined. PREview is about understanding academic medical culture and not a direct measure of your leadership skills. I would love to get your insights offline (or direct message/conversation) since I can talk to those who are involved in promoting the test for admissions purposes. I have told people who are non-traditional and have been used to more autonomy about how that will not be the case when you start medical school/training. But that may not be the case for veterinary med.

The odds of their being a grading error on a multiple-choice exam isn't exactly zero but it's zero. I believe the MCAT allows for a rescore for a fee, which is basically a donation to the AAMC. Perhaps I'm misremembering.
It's possibly the case that the score is not used at all in the admissions process and they're using it "for data". Is this bafflingly stupid? Yes. Can you as an applicant tell them this? No.

What’s interesting is that I felt like I was approaching the scenarios pretty similarly to what you described, since that’s generally how I respond to conflict/adversity-type situations. I actually walked away from the test feeling really good about it, so maybe I was interpreting some of the questions or rating choices differently than intended. Who knows! 😂
Thankfully, it’s only a small percentage of the pre-interview scoring for the school I’m applying to that uses it. And if I ever have to take it again, at least I’ll have a much better idea of what to expect. 🙏🏼
