just curious about how long it takes to get step 2 scores back

Every Wed the NBME updates its online roster (available only to your med school) and mails those scores. Thus, your school can know before you if they check that day, since it will take a couple days for the mail to come.

I took mine 7/21, it was available 8/24.

Keep in mind they claim that there may be an extra 3-4 weeks (on top of the normal 3-4 weeks) if you take the FRED version. Check the NBME or USMLE website.
