how long does it take amcas to verify your application once it is submitted? and then how long does it take to get secondaries after that...

do you think there is a huge difference between submitting on june 5th and june 9th

i'd say anywhere from 2-8 weeks, depending on how many they receive. i don't think there's a difference at all between 4 days. for me, the primary wasn't the problem. the problem was getting myself to finish secondaries. they are tedious!

You didn't submit in June did you?

If you submit early-mid June you will be verified within a week. The first time I submitted I submitted at noon (June 16th) and two hours later they had already started verifying it.

So June - 0-1 weeks
July - 1-2 weeks
late July - 2-4 weeks
August - 4-6 weeks
September - October - 6-10 weeks

So as you can see - anywhere in June/July you will still be in the first piles reviewed by schools with everyone else.

Also, try searching there are at least 5 threads on this in the first two pages.

Yeah, I submitted in July, and I *think* it took 2 weeks. I really don't remember though. I wasn't an SDNer back then, so I didn't have all this pushing for early, hehe. But, honestly, it was getting myself to finish secondaries that sucked.

Anyway, your timeline looks pretty accurate to me. 🙂

Then again, this year is quite different because people are taking MCATs at different times. I mean, already you could have taken the MCAT twice and known your score by now, so things will have changed since last year.

You should yourself come up with a date that you want everything to be done (and really, it's just the PS that takes time). Other than that, submit ASAP.

Last year, I was finished by mid July and it took exactly 4 weeks to be verified. If you submit in June, you're in very good shape.

It can take anywhere from a few weeks to 2 months. Filling out the app incorrectly and transcripts can delay things. For example one of the schools I requested a transcript from took two weeks to send it, sent it without a seal so it was rejected, had to have them send it again. So my app was delayed by an extra 2+ weeks. Send your transcripts rush delivery when possible.

if on AMCAS it states that the transcript has been "received" then does that mean that everything regarding that aspect was fine? is there a need to call AAMC to verify this with them?

neurofreak: I'm guessing they verify your transcripts after you hit "submit" and they begin the verification process.... But hey, if you manage to get them to verify that a transcript is legit before you submit, feel free to post back here.
