How Long for FAFSA

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
hey guys,

I will be matriculating in August and just submitted my FAFSA today. Will I have any trouble getting funds in time for school in August?

You should be fine. It took about 2 days for my FAFSA to be processed and sent to my school. I've already completed my application for the Stafford loan, I'm just waiting for my financial aid award before applying for a PLUS loan.

Once your school has the FAFSA on file, you should get instructions on how to proceed with the loan application. If you're going all federal, it's an easy process and your money will be disbursed in time for your school's deadline.

No, FAFSA is something the government can actually do in a short amount of time... if everything else was as easy as the FAFSA stuff, people wouldn't dislike the government so much me thinks... 😉 It will take longer to get your private loans than your federal loans, but... you should have ample time...

The government is also really quick at taking your money when you still owe them taxes :meanie:
