How long is AACOM taking to send your stuff?

Sigh,
How long does AACOM take till they send your application to the schools. They have all my stuff. What is their turn around time??

The more correct answer should be "too long", "longer", "very long" or something in that category. Did Slickness mean to say 9 days........ or 9 Sundays?

I think that:

1) AACOMAS Headquater must be on the moon. That's why things move a kind of slow there. Or
2) AACOMAS has a terrific crystal ball to preempt this Greatest Black Out on Earth or
3)AACOMAS thought that we were in two-minutes-warning-period and we were ahead by one point or we shooting the winning free throw basket or
4) AACOMAS thought that you and I are applying for the two new osteopathic schools or
5) AACOMAS may have been spending too much time in the allopathic forum or
6) according to md, it's the postal service....or

whatever.............. it is harder to get into a DO school.

15 days (not business days - just days) -- but it took them about 3 weeks to document that they received one of my transcripts -- so, I dunno....

I take it back.

The delay in my case was due to my Registrar. It took them 16 days to send the transcript out. Blame it on the recall process. They must be so excited when Arnie Sch#$@$#%$ger announced that he was terminating the current governer's career.

Transcript left the Registrar Office 8/11
Reached AACOMAS 8/14
Recieved by AACOMAS 8/21
Will be sent to COM the week of 8/24

So in the month of August, it takes about 14 days. And so far, AACOMAS has done a good job for me. Thanks

word of advice, don't take their word. my stuff has been there since 7/28, and still hasnt' been sent. i spoke to them 2 weeks ago and they said it would go out in the next mailing. guess what, it didnt. i called them this week, and they said the same exact thing. gotta love aaaaaaacomas

Not to sound discouraging, but last year it took them 4-6 weeks to send out the application once they received everything (transcripts, etc). In my case, it was of course the six weeks!!

So how long did it take for them to receive transcripts? Is there any way to speed this process along like sending a form with the transcripts (like amcas)?

I wish there was something to speed things up, but alas, nothing can save this process except the passage of time. They got all my transcripts 8/11 and processed my stuff and sent my application today 8/26. So that wasn't too bad.

Is there a place on the aacom website that it give exact directions on sending transcripts (address, etc...) or are we just on our own.

anyone that has already sent, please shed some light on the situation.

I sent mine to the chevy chase , MD address. It is on their website. I wrote up a quick letter and sent it in with my transcript request my schools.

I have a question. When secondaries start coming, does it mean that I am active ? However, the aacomas website says that transcripts aren't received although i sent them in a long time ago!

DrLady, they must have forwarded your applications to your selected schools. But, if the online status page says that they haven't received your transcripts, I'd call them and ask. They were pretty friendly and efficient over the phone.

AMCAS ... well that's another story.

.....on 9/3/03 and they said, "Up until 8/25/03, we have not received your transcripts." They must be really bogged down to be that many days behind. I'm sure they got my transcripts by the 28th at least...........
