I found GRE pretty straightforward. In regards to content review, the verbal section is vocabulary-heavy. Most prep-books come with vocab lists to study, and studying those took the bulk of my time. In regards to math, it basically only covers up through pre-calculus. I studied for about a month using The Princeton Review prep book + practice tests and had no problems.

I studied vocabulary using free magoosh flash cards for ~20 mins/day for 2 months. Then I used the YouTube channel don’t memorise for math about a week before the exam, watching all the videos once and writing down the formulas I needed to remember. 90+ percentile on both sections.

If you did well on the SAT, you will do well on the GRE. It’s basically SAT 2.0, so study accordingly. The math is simple, with the hardest questions being about trig and maybe some limits stuff—maybe.

I took it three years ago, but I reviewed the night before and the day before and did very well. Full disclosure though, I have a math degree so I didn’t really review that. You know how good or bad you are with math. Don’t blow it off if you’re shaky.

Honestly depends how old you are. I took the GRE about 15 years out of high school, so I had to teach myself a lot of math (simple geometry, algebra) again. I used Magoosh and put in a ton of time for about a month, definitely worth the price. Crushed it with a great score too.
