Considering you "wrote" the exam is it safe to say the scores are being sent to Canada? If so, that could be your problem with the delay.

Indeed, there must be some sort of language conversion discrepancy between "took" and "wrote". For future reference to all ESL students, you "took" (past tense) or "will take" (future tense) the exam. You do not "write" the NBDE 1, as writing would imply that you actually made the test yourself. I don't intend to be mean by writing this, but it would be wise to learn good English if you wish to be a dentist in the US. I know that English is NOT an easy language, so I do sympathize with you. GL!

Jay, actually, there is no language conversion discrepancy, unless the discrepancy falls from converting english to english. In Canada, they do not "take" an exam. They "write" an exam. You do need to remember, we are not the only country that speak English. Within every language, there are variations in meanings of words depending on where you come from.

Do a Google search - Canada writing an exam. You will come up with a ton of links that mention writing an exam. An example from the Canadian Dental Association website "Applicants are encouraged to write the DAT well in advance of applying to dental school (e.g. no later than the November test session of the year preceding application to dental school)."
